Dawn Jackson Blatner is a registered and licensed dietitian in Chicago, Ill. She is a national media spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association, with over 1,000 media impressions in outlets such as USA Today, Dateline, Newsweek, Cooking Light and WebMD. Dawn has a regular healthy eating segment on Chicago’s FOX News in the Morning. She is the dietitian for Lifetimetv.com where she contributes a weekly column and educational videos. She is also an appointed nutrition expert on the advisory board of Fitness magazine.

As a freelance writer, she writes health and wellness articles for magazines such as Health and Fitness, has contributed to several books including the American Medical Association Guide to Weight Management, and has two books coming out in 2008: Counseling Overweight Adults: The Lifestyle Patterns Approach and Toolkit (American Dietetic Association) and The Flexitarian Diet (McGraw Hill.)
Dawn is an instructor at the Chopping Block where she teaches "Healthy in a Hurry" cooking classes. She offers individual patient counseling, corporate consultations, wellness lectures and professional seminars.

Blatner has over ten years experience working with clients to improve health outcomes due to obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. She has worked as a dietitian with a national healthfood chain, exclusive spas, DePaul University and Northwestern Memorial Hospital Wellness Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors in Human Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and completed her internship at the University of New Mexico.
