3 Low-Sugar Superfood Cocktails
These drinks are more hydrating and have waaaaay less sugar than traditional cocktails. The alcohol can be optional, for days you want to have mocktail fun. Cheers!
1. HIBISCUS SPRITZ
hibiscus tea + mint + sparkling water + optional prosecco
This drink is pretty in pink and so refreshing on hot summer days. It tastes like bubbly kool-aid!
Pro-tip: Pour 2 ounces of hot water over 1 hibiscus tea bag. Steep for 5 minutes, then remove the tea bag. This creates a flavorful “tea concentrate” which is perfect for making a spritz. Watch me make it here.
2. SPICY COCONUT LEMONADE
coconut water + lemon juice + jalapeño + optional vodka
Typical lemonade is made w/ lots of white sugar, but this version has no added sugar because I use naturally sweet coconut water.
Pro-tip: Not into spicy? Ditch the jalapeño and add some frozen berries instead.
3. KOMBUCHA MARGARITA
citrus kombucha + lime juice + salted glass + optional tequila
The good bacteria in kombucha makes this a gut & immune friendly drink while the salted rim glass adds electrolytes to keep you extra hydrated as you soak up the hot summer sun.
Pro-tip: You can swap kombucha to pureed watermelon (yum!) or low sugar green juice!
