If it has been some time since you’ve seen the back of your freezer, fridge or pantry…January is a great time to take action to make your 2013 kitchen work for you, instead of against you.
1) Purge. Make space for the right items by removing all outdated, moldy or freezer-burned foods.
2) Rearrange. In the fridge, store things such as boozy beverages and condiments in low-level crispers and keep healthier stuff such as vegetables, fruits and water front & center. Do the same smart sorting in your pantry, too.
3) Prepare. Clean & cut produce. You’ll be more likely to eat it & less likely to have it spoil/become expensive trash.
TOP TIP: Every 4 days take a quick inventory of what you have. Use up items before they go bad by surfing the web for simple recipes using those soon-to-spoil items.
