When we become so busy with urgent things, …we lose sight of the important things.
What’s the one thing you want most? Why hasn’t it happened?
Weight loss? Finding a new job? Pitching a new work project? Spending more time with friends/family?
It seems we have just enough time to put-out urgent deadline fires, but never enough time or energy for our most important personal & professional goals. It’s because we let distractions, over-commitment and procrastination take-over our daily schedule. Here are 4 strategies to shift away from urgent and focus on the important:
Think About Your Yes’s. Before agreeing to put something in your calendar, ask yourself if it will help you achieve what’s important to you.
Discover the Magic of Morning. Start with the hard stuff. Get your important stuff done first before any distractions interfere.
Schedule a Little Now. Carve out 10 minutes each day to dedicate to your goal. Build in more minutes as momentum sets in.
Log Off. Sign off of social media, IM’s & email. Check your accounts only at scheduled times through the day for more flow & focus in your schedule.
