I want to ENJOY the holidays & the special people in my life. But inner bad feelings can sneak in and try to take over the day.
Things don’t go the way I thought they would, accidental hurtful comments are said, I compare myself to someone & it makes me feel bad, etc.
I’ve learned the fastest way to snap out of those bad feelings is by…
Playing an inner game of
✨Speed Gratitude✨
EXAMPLES of how to play…
👉She/he said X…I’m pissed/sad/hurt.
SPEED GRATITUDE: Quickly think of 3 things I can appreciate about that person.
👉A change happened w/ the holiday schedule & it’s very disrespectful of my time and feelings.
SPEED GRATITUDE: Quickly think of 3 things I’m enjoying about the day.
👉Feeling bad because someone has a better holiday outfit, more thoughtful gift, or brought more amazing appetizers.
SPEED GRATITUDE: Quickly think of 3 things I’m loving about ME right now. (This snaps us into our own lane & stops comparison.)
PLAYING SPEED GRATITUDE is basically like a magic wand! ✨
Do it and…POOF the shitty feelings lessen or go away.
REMEMBER:
Use truth when thinking about what you’re grateful for…it’s not supposed to be lying to yourself and just putting on rose-colored glasses. It’s looking at a person/situation with a learned optimism lens.
