One group was told it was a weight loss diet & the other was told it would keep them at their current weight. Even though everyone was eating the same diet, the group that thought they would lose weight lost 20 pounds in 8 weeks, while the other group only lost 5 pounds in that time. Mindset is powerful. 2) FOOD QUALITY Researchers found people ate an extra 500 calories a day on a processed food diet of things like sweetened yogurt, lunchmeat, and white bread compared to a less processed diet. Eating less processed CRAP & more real, whole food works in two ways: start eating less. 3) MEALTIME VIBES In one study, people who ate at restaurants with softer lighting and music consumed 175 less calories and enjoyed food more than people who ate at brightly lit, loud restaurants.
