DIY Dark Chocolate Candy Bar
An easy to make, low sugar sweet treat rich in stress busting cocoa flavonoids.
Make it in just 4 easy steps…
1. Melt Chocolate.
Melt 1/4 cup of your favorite dark chocolate chips* in the microwave or in a pot over boiling water. When the chocolate is 90% melted, it’s done!
*No chocolate chips? Use an ounce of a dark chocolate bar.
2. Spread Chocolate.
Using the back of a spoon, spread the melted chocolate into a rectangle, chocolate bar shape on a parchment-lined plate.
3. Sprinkle on Toppings.
See below for some of my favorite combos.
4. Refrigerate.
Place in the fridge for 5 minutes or until hardened. YUM!
Here are my 6 favorite toppings:
PB&J: peanut butter + freeze dried strawberries
Almond Joy: unsweetened coconut flakes + chopped almonds
Salted Popcorn: crushed popcorn + sea salt
Banana Bread: freeze dried banana slices + walnuts
Mint Nib: mint extract + cocoa nibs
Tahini Crunch: puffed brown rice cereal + tahini
The star ⭐️ of this SIMPLE sweet treat is dark chocolate….
The cocoa flavonoids in dark chocolate may help with stress. One study found that eating an ounce and a half of dark chocolate daily for two weeks decreased stress hormones.
PS: I love that this DIY dark chocolate candy bar is a single serving. It keeps my dessert perfectly portioned & I can make any flavor I feel like.
