I traveled for the first time in what seems like forever this past week & completely forgot to bring my go-to travel snacks.
It was really eye opening and made me realize how HELPFUL travel snacks are…
What do travel snacks help with?
✨Snacks keep you from eating the free refined pretzels/cookies on the plane.
✨Snacks help you from getting too hungry and over ordering at meals.
✨Snacks can make a quick breakfast instead of skipping it.
✨Snacks can give you extra daily fiber for regularity while traveling.
✨Snacks stop “hangry” vibes from ruining your trip.
My 6 Favorite Travel Snacks:
These are my favs because they take up very little space in my travel bags + add an easy dose of superfood nutrition + need no refrigeration.
1. Roasted chickpeas
👉you can buy packs of roasted chickpeas in sweet and/or savory flavors so they are perfect for any type of craving. Plus…they have lots of fiber to help w/ regularity & make you thirsy so you want to stay more hydrated.
2. Instant oatmeal packets
👉you can make plain instant oatmeal packs by ordering a cup of hot water at coffee shops, asking for hot water on the plane, or using your hotel room coffee maker to warm up some water.
👉of all the fresh fruit, apples are the most portable & can stick around in your bag to fuel your whole trip. They are a great way to get fiber & a dose of immune boosting vitamin C. Clementines are also high on my list of travel-friendly fresh fruit.
4. Raw nuts & nut butter packets
👉nuts have fiber + protein + satisfying fat….and a handful of nuts pairs well with a piece of fruit & the nut butter packs make an awesome oatmeal topper.
5. Peppermint tea bags
👉these help keep travel bloating to a minimum. Just order a cup of hot water after your meal or make a cup in your hotel coffee maker before bed.
6. Dark chocolate squares
👉a delish low-sugar after dinner treat instead of ordering a big dessert every night.
