Look to see if your meal is about 25% starchy carb + 25% protein + lots of produce + a little fat. This is the powerful ratio that gives your body’s cells balanced nutrients and steady energy.
IF YES: Move on to Question 2.
IF NO: What can you add or swap to make your meal more balanced?
Examples: Add a handful of spinach to your sandwich, veggie sticks next to your burger, some arugula on your pizza, broccoli to your pasta, veggies & guac to your steak tacos, etc.
2. Is this meal craveable for my MENTAL satisfaction?
What’s “craveable” is different for everyone, but most of the time you know just by looking at a meal if it’s going to be deliciously satisfying to you or not. You’ve got to enjoy what you’re eating to truly feel full & want to stick with it.
IF YES: Eat & Enjoy🎉
IF NO: What can you add or swap to make your meal more craveable?
Examples: Add some sweet potato fries or crushed tortilla chips to your salad, a drizzle of your favorite creamy dressing on your bowl or wrap, a sprinkle of granola to your smoothie, a satisfying peanut sauce to your stir-fry, etc.
