Earth Day is Friday April 22. And while there are many ways we can each contribute to a healthier planet every day, one thing I’m personally working on is: DECREASING FOOD + KITCHEN WASTE.
Decreasing Food + Kitchen Waste is win-win since it’s good for the Earth to create less waste AND saves us money. This dinner idea has helped us throw away less food & it’s actually a lot of fun…

MANTRA: Buy smart, Store it right, Use it all
🌎 Buy the right amount of food with a plan of how to use it. Choose ingredients that can be used in multiple recipes, so they’re less likely to sit around & go bad.
🌎 Store food so it stays fresh longest.
🌎 Organize food & leftovers so you don’t forget about them. Don’t shove things to the back of the fridge & use clear or labeled containers.
🌎 Have go-to recipes that easily use leftovers & produce before they go bad like the FRIDGE CLEAN-OUT CHARCUTERIE and… frittatas, pastas, nachos, stir-frys.
…also work to decrease KITCHEN WASTE like paper plates, plastic sandwich & storage bags, paper towels, plastic wrap, foil, and parchment paper. And bring your own produce bags & shopping bags to the grocery store.
