ABOUT THE RESEARCH STUDY:
Scientists studied how eating different kinds of fruits and vegetables (F&V) affects health.
They checked the levels of 14 health markers (like blood sugar and cholesterol) in 41,714 people to see which F&V helped the most. They found 19 specific F&V were associated with better health markers.
They also studied 207,241 people to see how eating these 19 F&V affected their chances of getting certain diseases. They found that people who ate more of these 19 F&V had a lower risk of getting serious diseases.
BOTTOM LINE:
For good health, eat your fruits and veggies! And for extra credit, aim to get THE POWER 19 into your regular routine.
