DINNER PLANNING LITE
Read on…
– 100 Ideas = No Ideas. One of the biggest dinner planning mistakes is having TOO MANY IDEAS. So when it’s time to decide “What’s For Dinner,” it’s too overwhelming & you can’t even think of just 1 idea. Gather only the healthiest, easiest, most delicious 7-10 ideas, and cap it at that.
Pro-Tip: If you are a visual person/cooking without a recipe, start a photo album of your favorite dinners on your phone. If you are a follow-a-recipe person, put the recipe title & link to the recipe in your phone notes.
I created a *printable* dinner plan template (see below) to help organize dinners for the week. Here’s how to use it…
– Only use 3-4 ideas. You don’t need to write a different meal idea in every box. Start with 3-4 different dinner ideas and the other nights can be repeats of those meals or leftovers. Look at your schedule to see which meal makes the most sense on each day.
– Add ingredients. Add the recipe title & ingredientsyou need to make it so the template becomes your shopping list, too.
– Prep ahead? Look at the meal ideas you added & reflect if there are any ingredients you can prep aheadlike grill the chicken, cut veggies, roast potatoes, or boil pasta. Write that in the “prep ahead” box to remind you.
– Post! Put the Dinner Plan Template on your fridge so when life gets hectic, you remember the plan.
– Reuse. If you enjoy the week’s meals & they seemed pretty easy and doable, REUSE that planner another week to save time. Over time, you will end up with a few of these weekly planners that are your go-tos to repeat.
3. SHOP
– Shop. Once you have the planner filled out, it’s time to shop for groceries or use a grocery delivery service. Just get the food in your house because you are only as healthy as your last trip to the grocery store. 😉
