The FUNdamentals
Happy New Year, WOW fam!
If nutrition feels overwhelming and confusing right now, you’re not imagining it.
Everywhere you turn, there’s a new “hack,” a new rule, a new thing to optimize. Biohacking. Micromanaging ingredients. The perfect supplement, peptide, or protocol. Debating the perfect oil. The “best” timing, etc., etc., etc. Ugh!
Social media has everyone stressing over tiny details that feel important, but often aren’t.
HERE’S THE TRUTH:
Most people struggle because they’ve been taught to overcomplicate the small stuff, and they lose sight of the big picture.
Let this be your permission to SIMPLIFY!
Instead of chasing hacks, let’s ace the basics that actually work. Let’s focus on the FUNdamentals…
I call them the FUNdamentals, because when you focus on these 5 core habits, you feel better… and life is more FUN.
If you want better health, better energy, better sleep, better digestion, better workouts, better mood, this is where to focus…
1. BALANCED MEALS
Balanced meals steady your energy, reduce cravings, and help you feel focused and fueled.
– On each plate, aim for protein + carbs + produce + fat
– Regular meals > grazing chaos
– Read more about Balanced Meals HERE.
2. HYDRATION
Enough fluids support energy, digestion, and focus.
– Start the day with a full glass of water before coffee.
– Pair hydration with habits you already have (sip while cooking, commuting, or scrolling).
– Use flavor like lemon, electrolytes, or fruit-infused water.
– Learn about your “Water Personality” HERE.
3. MOVEMENT
Movement is medicine and boosts mood, metabolism, energy, strength, and confidence.
– Aim to strength train at least 2x/week for muscle, bones, and metabolism.
– Walk most days, even short walks add up.
– If you dread it, change it. Movement should feel like something you get to do, not punishment.
– Read about the 8 Habits of Successful Exercisers HERE.
4. SLEEP
Sleep isn’t passive. It’s active recovery for your body, brain, hormones, and metabolism.
– Set a wind-down alarm, not just a wake-up alarm.
– Dim lights and screens 60–90 minutes before bed.
– Keep bedtime roughly consistent, even on weekends.
– Think of sleep as next-day energy prep, not “going to bed early.”
– Read about the Sleep Checklist HERE.
5. JOY
Joy lowers stress hormones, supports mental health, and makes healthy habits easier to sustain.
– Joy is not optional or extra, it’s a success strategy.

FINAL THOUGHT
Most people don’t need more information.
They need permission to stop complicating things.
Health isn’t built through constant “optimization.”
It’s built by showing up for the FUNdamentals, again and again.
Feeling confused or stuck?
That’s usually a sign you’re complicating things.
Zoom out, simplify, and ask yourself…
“Which ONE FUNdamental needs more love right now?”
Start there. You have permission to simplify.
And if you focus on the FUNdamentals, you will be the healthiest person you know!
Happy New Year!
