Since the pandemic, more & more people are turning to frozen foods, ESPECIALLY FROZEN PIZZA as part of their regular weekly rotation.
And there’s no shame in the game of enjoying frozen pizza. In fact, frozen is usually better for you than take-out. And…it’s easy to UPGRADE FROZEN PIZZA. Read on…
CHOOSE FROZEN PIZZA
There’s lots of options/brands when it comes to frozen pizza. Rule of thumb:
✅ thin crust
Whole grain or veggie-based like cauliflower are best.
✅ veggie topped
Interesting: Veggie pizzas tend to be better than plain cheese versions because they usually have less cheese = less sodium & fat.

Here are my 4 favorite ways to SUPERCHARGE frozen pizza…
1. ARUGULA SALAD PIZZA
Top frozen pizza with fresh arugula & a squeeze of lemon after baking. Some of my fav pizza places in Chicago do this!
2. GARLIC KALE PIZZA
Top frozen pizza with sautéed garlic kale after baking.
3. MEXICAN PIZZA
Top frozen pizza with black beans & shredded cabbage before baking. And when it comes out, add fresh cilantro.
4. BRUSSELS SPROUT PIZZA
Top frozen pizza with fresh shredded brussels sprouts before baking. This is a must-try & one of our favorite toppers.
PIZZA EXTRA CREDIT
Include veggies on top of frozen pizza + A SIMPLE GREEN SALAD ON THE SIDE. HERE are my favorite basic salads to make with any kind of pizza!
PIZZA PRO-TIPS
1) PEPPERONI LOVERS! We recently discovered if you add raw jalapeño slices instead of pepperoni, they give you that same great spice, without adding meat!
2) MAKE PIZZA CROUTONS!!!!! Take a piece of pizza, cut it into cubes, and toss them into salads! I’ve been doing this forever & it’s a fun way to get pizza vibes & lots of veggies!
