This post is sponsored by The Quaker Oats Company, but all opinions are my own.
I’ve got a feel-good challenge for you…
I’m teaming up with Quaker, the official oatmeal sponsor of the NFL, to help spread the word about their new Quaker Good Call Challenge that supports Feeding America®. The Challenge encourages people to make a good call for themselves and for others to help tackle hunger.
For more than 140 years, Quaker has stood by its belief that life’s circumstances should never be a barrier to good nutrition and that one small act can have a big impact on people facing food insecurity.
Quaker has committed to donating $125,000 to Feeding America (which will help secure at least 1.25 million meals*) and is encouraging all of us to join in. Today, Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization with a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs across the country.
HERE’S HOW TO JOIN THE CHALLENGE:
- Create a SPARE CHANGE BANK. I’m making mine with an empty Quaker Oats canister.
- Start collecting spare change around your home (I put my canister bank right by the door so we can easily empty our purse/pockets when we come in).
- From now until Dec. 31, take your spare change to a participating COINSTAR location (excludes NY, SD, VT) and select “FEEDING AMERICA” to submit your donation.
Are you with me? Let’s start collecting our spare change for the Quaker Good Call Challenge!
NEW RECIPE!
Oh, and if you need a RECIPE to help you use up some Quaker Oats to make your canister into a spare change bank, I just created a new oat recipe: SAVORY PARMESAN OATS.
I used Quaker’s Old Fashioned Oats to make a creamy polenta-like dinnertime option with roasted fall veggies. Pair this with your favorite protein like roasted chicken, salmon, or lentils – so delish!

*The monetary equivalent of meals will be donated. $1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks. Quaker has committed $125,000.00. Valid: October 20 – December 31, 2021
