The holiday season comes with lots of social gatherings. How do we enjoy ourselves while also staying happy & healthy???
Use my P.A.R.T.Y. acronym.
Here are my P.A.R.T.Y. tips for holiday socializing….
🎉 Plate
🎉 Activity
🎉 Reason For The Season
🎉 Taste
🎉 Your Favorites
PLATE
Eat meals, snacks, and desserts from a plate instead of grazing over the appetizer table, nibbling on parts of desserts, or mindlessly munching while cooking/cleaning up.
✨ WHY: Using a plate creates a sense of empowered eating and increases your enjoyment!
ACTIVITY
Keep fitness and movement in your schedule for an immune boost, stress relief, better sleep, more energy, and improved digestion.
✨ WHY: Movement helps you feel better so you can enjoy your friends, family, and holiday experiences even more!
REASON FOR THE SEASON REFRAME
Enjoy the food at parties, absolutely! But then shift your focus more to the real reason of the season… creating fun & loving memories with friends and family.
✨ WHY: Being present and enjoying holiday experiences brings JOY, and joy is a nutrient! It nourishes your cells in a deep & powerful way.
TASTE
Savor, enjoy, appreciate your food. Yup, slowing down can help you not overeat and also the extra chewing helps digestion & reduces bloating, but read on to really unlock the power of TASTING your food…
✨ WHY: The other day I saw a friend eating slowly and really tasting her food, and then in her chair she started to do a little “happy dance” because she was overcome with pleasure. I think we all deserve to enjoy food to that extent!
YOUR FAVORITES
Choose to eat your absolute favorites. Not just what you like to eat, but what you really LOVE.
✨ WHY: When you prioritize what you TRULY want to eat, you’ll feel more satisfied than if you randomly eat a little of everything (too much variety stimulates your appetite & makes it harder to feel satisfied.)
PS: These P.A.R.T.Y. strategies work for holiday socializing, but it’s also advice you can use anytime, all year long! 🎉

Can honey be substituted for maple syrup for the pumpkin creamer recipe?
DJ Blatner, RDN says
I think you are talking about https://www.dawnjacksonblatner.com/2023/11/protein-packed-pumpkin-spice-latte/ recipe for protein-packed pumpkin spice latte? If so, yes you can swap honey for maple syrup because the warm, brewed coffee will help melt the honey. However, 100% maple syrup really does add some fall flavor & blends into liquid even easier. Cheers!
