Last week I shared lazy meal ideas for tired & busy days. Let’s keep the lazy theme going, shall we? Below I am turning a simple piece of toast into easy & totally balanced breakfasts…
3 LAZY TOAST
BREAKFAST IDEAS
…perfect for when you want a FAST breakfast that’ll keep you satisfied & energized until lunch time
1. SALMON TOAST
protein: wild salmon
grain: sprouted whole grain toast
produce: mashed avocado/cucumber/radish
Pro tip: Use baked/broiled, smoked, or canned salmon. This makes a great lunch or dinner, too!
2. CHEDDAR TOAST
protein: cheddar cheese
grain: sprouted whole grain toast
produce: sliced tomato & arugula
Pro tip: I assemble my cheddar toast & stick it under the broiler for a few mins to get the cheese melty. You can swap arugula to other greens, too.
3. YOGURT SWIRL TOAST
protein: 2% plain greek yogurt
grain: sprouted whole grain toast
produce: mashed berries
Pro tip: Spread a thick layer of yogurt on the toast & swirl in the berries. Thawed frozen unsweetened berries work great here.
✨NOTES✨
SPROUTED: I love sprouted whole grain bread since sprouting may increase the amount of protein, vitamins & minerals our body can use. And many people find it easier to digest than unsprouted versions.
SOURDOUGH: Another bread that rises above the rest: Sourdough. Sourdough bread may help keep blood sugar levels steady for long lasting energy. 💥
SWEET POTATO: Not a bread fan or wanna change things up? Swap out the bread for SWEET POTATO TOAST. Click HERE for how to make it.
